Frequently Asked Questions

Logistics

  • The date and time of our wedding is Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 4:00pm at Harvest Moon Pond (N 3540, WI-22, Poynette, WI 53955). A reception will follow immediately at Harvest Moon Pond. To see the full wedding schedule click here.

  • The dress code for our wedding and reception is cocktail attire. For all other wedding events the dress code is casual.

  • Yes! And this is the method of transport to and from the venue that we highly recommend. We will have shuttles that pick-up at both the Edgewater and AC Hotels that you can take even if you are not staying at these hotels. To see more details click here.

  • Yes! Please do!! If you are able to make it to the wedding/reception but are not able to make it to any of our other events, we’ll be just as excited to see you there!

  • The after party is at State Street Brats (603 State Street, Madison, WI) which is a 10-minute walk from the Edgewater hotel and a 20-minute walk from the AC Hotel. Our plan is to walk back as group and make a stop at the famous Ian’s Pizza! Madison is generally a very safe place to walk late at night (especially in a group); however, Uber and Lyft are also options for getting home.

RSVP & Invitations

  • You can RSVP directly on our website using the RSVP link on the website banner. If this doesn’t work for you, you can click here to access the RSVP page directly. Please enter your name as it appears on your invitation envelope (if both you and a partner are invited, you only need to enter one name to access your RSVP). If for some reason you are still unable to access the RSVP link, please email us at mdbirrenkott@gmail.com. The deadline to RSVP is July 15, 2026. If your plans change before this, you can directly access your RSVP and updating it by entering the same information you entered when you initially RSVP’ed. If your plans change after July 15, 2026, please email us directly to let us know.

  • Due to venue capacity, we weren't able to extend a plus-one to every guest. If your invitation includes a plus-one, you'll see the option to add them when you RSVP.

  • We adore your children however the ceremony and reception are adult-only events. However, we can’t wait to celebrate with you and them at the Welcome BBQ and Farewell Brunch (We’re also excited to welcome any caregivers to the BBQ and Brunch that you have brought with you to watch your children during the wedding/reception)!

If you need help finding child care during the afternoon/evening on Saturday, please fill out this form and we will see what we can do to connect you with someone.

  • Yes! We have a little bit more flexibility with these events than with our wedding ceremony/reception. If your plans change and you can make these events, please let us know as soon as you know (you can update the RSVP up until July 15 and after that please email mdbirrenkott@gmail.com).

Travel & Accommodations

  • We have reserved discounted hotel blocks at two Downtown Madison hotels: the Edgewater Hotel and the AC Hotel. Please see our lodging page for more details on how to book.

  • The closest airport Dane Country Regional Airport. It is a hotel shuttle or cab/rideshare from Downtown Madison. If you are flying, we strongly recommend this airport. Please see our travel page for more details.

  • We strongly recommend that you do not plan to use a rideshare to or from the venue. The venue has limited cellular service and drivers often don’t want to do pick-ups at the venue. We have arranged for a shuttle to and from the venue which we highly recommend. You can find more details on our travel page.

Food & Drink

  • Yes! Immediately following the ceremony we will have a cocktail hour with light hors d’oeuvres and drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic).

  • Yes, we will have assigned seating. We will have seating charts available as you come in for dinner.

  • Dinner will be served “buffet style.” We have requested that you let us know your preferred meal in the RSVP page. Because it is a buffet everyone can have whatever they choose but getting a general sense helps our caterer accommodate everyone.

  • Absolutely! When you RSVP there is an area for you to enter your dietary restrictions or allergies. We will pass this information along to our caterers to make sure we can accommodate all of our guests.

  • Yes! We’re exited to be able to host everyone with an open bar! Top shelf options will be available for purchase if desired.

Our venue reserves the right to cut off anyone who has been over served.

Ceremony

  • Our plan is to hold our ceremony outdoors! In the event if inclement weather, our ceremony will still be held in the indoor space at Harvest Moon Pond, so we’re on rain or shine!

  • Yes, our venue is accessible for guests with mobility needs. If you require any special accommodations, please reach out to us directly at mdbirrenkott@gmail.com and we’ll make sure we get it figured out.

  • We kindly request that you refrain from photography during the ceremony. We have an excellent photography team who will capture the ceremony, and we would like all of you to be present and celebrate with us!
